Peugeot SR1 concept

Peugeot SR1 concept Well ahead its anticipated debut at the 2010 Geneva motor show, Peugeot has released renderings of the SR1, a new 2+1 concept which showcases the stylistic design direction of the brand's future models.

The hardtop convertible concept car is said to embody the new world of Peugeot, reflected by the new Lion badge which adorns its sculpted hood. Designed to explore and reinterpret the 'Grand Touring car' theme, with a long, sculpted hood, flowing body panels made of carbon and a very low center of gravity, the aesthetic traits of the SR1 are claimed to renew Peugeot's strong stylistic identity and create a new design language.

The three-seat interior promotes the idea of contrast. While the driver's seat and controls are driver focused, the passenger compartment is designed to provide versatility for occupants. The third rear seat nestles in the middle, behind the two front seats, with entry facilitated by the center console, which can slide forward to improve access. Patinated leather and different grained wood are examples of the use of authentic and natural materials, which blend seamlessly with high tech materials such as nickel and satin-finished chrome.

Honda New Small Concept

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. (HSCI), the Japanese automaker's Indian subsidiary, unveiled the New Small Concept at Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi yesterday.

Previewing a new compact vehicle set to make its market debut in 2011 (in India and also in Thailand), the New Small Concept features a number of characteristic Honda design elements seen on the brand's recent production models and concept cars.

Designed under an "Efficient Energetic Exterior" theme, the dynamic design of the New Small Concept includes front forward fenders, a deep featureline that blends into the DLO at the C-pillar and taillamps that are reminiscent of those on the CRZ concept presented at last year's Tokyo motor show.

Honda aims to provide a new small-sized vehicle that is beyond the expectations of customers in rapidly growing markets and offer it at an affordable price by leveraging Honda's global parts sourcing network.
