Audi E-Tron Detroit concept (w/ Video)
Audi unveiled the second iteration of its E-Tron concept at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show last week. Smaller than the previous showcar revealed at the Frankfurt and Los Angeles auto shows in 2009, the E-Tron nomenclature previews an impending model line the German automaker plans to develop, in the same ilk as the Quattro vehicle line.
Measuring 3930mm long and 1780 mm wide, the two-seater is the same length and has the same wheelbase as the Volkswagen Bluesport concept revealed at the NAIAS in 2009, but the vehicle weighs just 1,350kg thanks to its aluminum body and use of carbon fiber-reinforced composite materials that make up the doors, lids, sidewalls and roof.
